Children and Adolescents.
Life across all ages can be met with struggles. Sarah works at understanding the needs and concerns of each individual child and teen, within their family and social world. Sarah conceptualises how children have come to think, feel, react, and behave in the way they do, and utilises a wide range of evidence-based approaches in a tailored way to plan treatment to meet each child’s psychological, emotional, relational, and developmental needs.
Sarah specialises and is experienced at working with a wide rage of psychological difficulties including:
trauma, complex and developmental trauma, dissociation
depression, mood difficulties, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation
anxiety, phobias, panic, separation anxiety, social anxiety, OCD
relationship difficulties - family, peers, and bullying.
Some evidence-based approaches offered:
EMDR Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-based CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Circle of Security, in addition to attachment, play, sandtray, sensorimotor, and art therapy techniques. Sarah is also a Safe and Sound Protocol (polyvagal) provider.
Adults.
Therapy is a collaboration, a space for making sense life experiences, discovery of who we are, and developing our ability to see a meaningful future. All treatment is individually conceptualised and planned to your needs. Therapy provided is evidence-based, with an approach aimed to reduce distress and improve daily psychological well being and functioning. Sarah will draw upon EMDR Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-based CBT, ACT, in addition to sensorimotor and interpersonal neurobiological therapy techniques.
Sarah specialises in trauma focused therapy and is experienced at working with a wide rage of psychological difficulties including:
trauma, complex PTSD, dissociation
depression, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation
anxiety, social anxiety, panic, OCD
grief and loss
stress and relational conflict
existential concerns - life transitions, loneliness, intimacy
Fees and Rebates.
For a standard 50 minute session the fee is $230. From 1st January 2024, this will be $240.
Clients who have a Mental Health Care Plan and are referred by a doctor are able to claim a Medicare rebate of $136.35 for up to 10 consultations a year (Jan-Dec). Reports to your doctor are a Medicare requirement.
If you have private health cover you may be eligible for a rebate, without a doctor’s referral. However, you cannot claim from both Medicare and your Health Fund at the same time. Contact your fund for information on clinical psychology rebates.
Confidentiality and Privacy.
All information you give me is strictly confidential in accordance with APS guidelines.
Confidentiality ensures that all personal information gathered remains confidential, unless; it has been subpoenaed or authorised by law; the information places you or another at serious risk; your prior approval has been obtained. Medicare Better Access also requires that psychologists write a brief report to your referring GP throughout the course of treatment. Privacy ensures that all personal information is confidential and stored securely for the duration that the information is required to be kept on file.
